Pakistan lodges protest against India's ceasefire violations along LoC

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan on Wednesday lodged a strong protest with India over Indian ceasefire violations on the Line of Control (LoC). Indian Deputy High Commissioner was summoned to Foreign Office in Islamabad and a strong protest was lodged with him over recent Indian ceasefire violations on the Line of Control (LoC) which resulted in martyrdom of one civilian. The Indian side was urged to respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangement and maintain peace on the LOC. The Indian side was also asked to permit UNMOGIP to play its mandated role as per the UN Security Council resolutions. A day earlier, a civilian, Abdul Rauf, embraced martyrdom due to unprovoked Indian firing on civil population in Kotkoterra Sector along the LoC. According to a press release issued by the ISPR, the martyred man was grazing his animals when targeted by the Indian troops. On August 18, one civilian was martyred as Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing, targetting civilians along the LoC in Danna sector.
