Pakistan Navy apprehended large hoard of liquor near Ormara

KARACHI (92 News) – Pakistan Navy conducted an intelligence based operation (IBO) near Ormara and seized Rs20 million worth of liquor being smuggled into the country. According to the Pakistan Navy, the seized alcohol has been handed over to Pakistan Customs for further investigation. The Pakistan Navy seized 4800 cans of beer and 2460 bottles of liquor worth Rs 20.0 million which were being smuggled to Pakistan through sea. A spokesman for the Navy said the operation was successful due to planning, vigilance and intelligence. He added that the Pakistan Navy was determined to maintain maritime security. The operation was executed with meticulous planning, consistent surveillance and obtaining precise intelligence, which demonstrates Pakistan Navy’s resolve to prevent any kind of unlawful activities taking place along our coast and adjacent sea areas. Pakistan Navy remains committed to its national and international obligations to maintain peace and order at sea.
Pakistan Navy, Sri Lanka conduct Bilateral Exercise ‘Lion Star’
Earlier today,  Pakistan Navy hosted Multinational Maritime Exercise AMAN-19 at Karachi from February 8 to 12. Sri Lankan Navy regularly participates in Exercise AMAN. Accordingly, Sri Lankan Navy Ship SLNS SAYURALA arrived at Karachi to participate in Multinational Maritime Exercise AMAN-19. Upon completion of Exercise AMAN-19, Sri Lankan Navy ship also participated in PN-SLN Bilateral Exercise ‘LION STAR’. In day-long harbour phase, undertaken at Karachi, personnel from both navies mutually benefitted from various activities which included discussions on various aspects of naval operations, security in the maritime domain and other areas of mutual cooperation. Moreover, reception dinner was also held onboard PNS SAIF in the honour of visiting ships. Subsequently, SLNS SAYURALA and Pakistan Navy Ship KHAIBAR participated in scheduled sea exercises, which included various tactical evolutions and operational maneuvers of ships. Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bilateral, Naval Exercise, `Lion Star' Pakistan and Sri Lanka enjoy longstanding cordial ties. In the maritime domain, Pakistan Navy’s engagement with Sri Lankan Navy has a long history which includes regular visits by senior officers, training cooperation and participation in various exercises. The visit of Sri Lankan Navy Ship to Pakistan and participation in bilateral Exercise LION STAR will further strengthen mutual collaboration and interoperability between two navies.
