Pakistan Navy commissions survey ship Behr Massah

KARACHI (92 News) – Pakistan Navy commissioned survey ship "Behr Massah" at a ceremony in Karachi on Monday. The research ship, which has been built in China for Pakistan Navy, is equipped with modern apparatus and will be used to explore natural resources in the sea. Speaking at the ceremony, Naval Chief Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi said commissioning of Behr Massah will prove to be a milestone for Pakistan Navy in the field of modern hydrography. He said Pakistan will be able to provide assistance to friendly countries in hydrography due to the survey ship. The naval chief said the bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and China in civil as well as defence sectors reflects excellent relationship between the two countries. Condemning Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir, the Naval Chief reiterated support to the Kashmiris till the last breath. Earlier, Pakistan Navy has joined the Trans-Regional Maritime Network based in Italy. An agreement related to join the Trans-Regional Maritime Network was signed by Naval Chief Admiral Zafar Mehmood Abbasi in Islamabad. Italian Ambassador Stefano Pontecorvo was also present on the occasion. Based in Italy, Trans-Regional Maritime Network has 32 countries its members. Pakistan Navy will be able to gain access to further information on maritime issues by joining this network, which has 32 countries as its members. As per details, two sides discussed defense cooperation and matters of mutual interest. General Nicolo Falsaperna hailed Pakistan Navy’s efforts for regional peace and stability.
