Pakistan Navy seizes around 1000kg of hashish near Ormara
KARACHI (92 News) – Pakistan Navy has confiscated around 1000kg of hashish worth over 2.5 billion rupees near Ormara in the open sea.
According to Pakistan Navy, the Navy conducted the intelligence based operation on the basis of permanent surveillance and mutual cooperation with the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), the spokesman said.
In an intelligence-based offshore operation approximately 1000 kilograms of hashish with a value of over 2.5 billion rupees captured by the Navy near coastal town of Ormara in Balochistan, the Navy’s spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, the confiscated contraband has been handed over to anti-narcotics force for legal process.
The successful seizure of narcotics by Pakistan Navy was the result of a complex operation involving surveillance and analysis in the area and conduct of Special Operations, according to the Navy.
The Pakistan Navy will continue to perform its national responsibilities in a best way, the spokesperson said.
The Navy is determined to ensure supremacy of the law in the Indian Ocean, the spokesperson said adding that the operation shows the naval forces alertness to protect the water frontiers of the country.
Pakistan Navy in an offshore operation near Pasni in Balochistan in February, seized 2000 kilograms of hashish.
The operation by PNS ASLAT was carried out while undertaking Maritime Security Operations in Pakistani Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
Pakistan Navy apprehended large hoard of liquor near Ormara
On Feb 15, Pakistan Navy conducted an intelligence based operation (IBO) near Ormara and seized Rs20 million worth of liquor being smuggled into the country.
According to the Pakistan Navy, the seized alcohol has been handed over to Pakistan Customs for further investigation. The Pakistan Navy seized 4800 cans of beer and 2460 bottles of liquor worth Rs 20.0 million which were being smuggled to Pakistan through sea.
A spokesman for the Navy said the operation was successful due to planning, vigilance and intelligence. He added that the Pakistan Navy was determined to maintain maritime security.

Pakistan Navy, Sri Lanka conduct Bilateral Exercise ‘Lion Star’
Earlier, Pakistan Navy hosted Multinational Maritime Exercise AMAN-19 at Karachi from February 8 to 12.
Sri Lankan Navy regularly participates in Exercise AMAN. Accordingly, Sri Lankan Navy Ship SLNS SAYURALA arrived at Karachi to participate in Multinational Maritime Exercise AMAN-19. Upon completion of Exercise AMAN-19, Sri Lankan Navy ship also participated in PN-SLN Bilateral Exercise ‘LION STAR’.
