Pakistan Post launches free remittance service for overseas Pakistanis

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan Post on Monday launched free remittance service for overseas Pakistanis. Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Monday, Minister for Postal Services Murad Saeed said under this service, people will be able to send remittances free of charge. The minister said Pakistan Post has 12,000 post offices in the country and this number will be increased to 27,000. He said this step is in line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan to provide maximum facilities to overseas Pakistanis. Murad Saeed said other services introduced by the department are 'same day delivery' and 'export parcel' which are receiving a good response from the people. The federal minister said postal service is also playing important role to dispatch parcels to overseas. He said services offered by postal services in Pakistan are being publicized abroad through Pakistani missions. He said small business segment in the country is being given incentives for using services of Pakistan Post. Earlier, Murad Saeed inaugurated the Pakistan Post Mobile Application for services featuring complaint handling, track and trace, e-commerce, delivery, parcel collect, complaints, tariff, post office locations, post codes and information about postal services. Talking to the journalists, the minister said he was committed to take complaints seriously for improvement of services and performance of the department. Highlighting accessibility of the Pakistan Post with its staff strength, footprints and over a century old legacy and credibility, he said, "Our postman visits almost every household of the country, including areas beyond anyone’s reach. "The minister announced a pilot project for microfinance loan disbursement of Khushhali Bank through the Pakistan Post. He also briefed about the future initiatives of postal services in Pakistan which would be compatible with the contemporary needs of today. It would include an entry into the E commerce business, he added.
