Pakistan ready to facilitate Afghan-Taliban talks; Indian boat drama exposed: FO

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan is willing to act as a facilitator for resumption of peace talks between the Afghan government and Taliban, Pakistan Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Tasneem Aslam said in the weekly media briefing on Friday. She said that reconciliation process between the Afghan government and the Taliban has to be owned by the Afghan authorities. Tasneem Aslam said India’s Deputy Inspector General of the Coast Guard BK Loshali’s statement has exposed ‘Indian drama’ in the boat incident. She added that Pakistan has already made it clear that no boat from its side has gone missing. In response to a question, Aslam said that Pakistan wants return of Afghan refugees by the end of 2015 and action will be taken against Afghans staying illegally. The spokesperson said that Pakistan has never backed away from holding dialogue with India, adding that Pakistan wants resolution of all conflicts through dialogues.
