Pakistan records 39 deaths in last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Pakistan has recorded 39 deaths in the last 24 hours by coronavirus as the nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 23,087 on Tuesday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 3,262 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours and the number of positive cases has surged to 1,011,708.

The positivity rate of infections was recorded at 6.6 per cent, it said. Pakistan’s caseload climbed to 1,011,708 after 3,262 new infections were detected.

The number of active cases currently stands at 59,899.

A total of 2,722 patients are in critical care at hospitals across the country, the NCOC said, adding 1,123 people recuperated from the disease in the past 24 hours, taking the number of people who have recovered since the pandemic began to 928,722.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 10,964 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 5,840 in Sindh, 4,423 in KP, 796 in Islamabad, 614 in Azad Kashmir, 326 in Balochistan, and 124 in GB.

Furthermore 369,245 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 353,695 in Punjab, 142,139 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 85,947 in Islamabad, 29,681 in Balochistan, 23,203 in Azad Kashmir and 7,798 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
