Pakistan records 4,858 fresh COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan has reported Pakistan has recorded 4,858 fresh COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours as the number of positive cases has surged to 1,039,695 on Monday.

According to the latest figures issued by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the country reported 40 deaths in a day by novel coronavirus and the nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 23,462.

The NCOC said that the country’s number of overall confirmed cases has risen to 1,039,695, including 943,020 recoveries, adding that the positivity rate of infections was recorded at 8.61 per cent. 56,414 tests were conducted during the period.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 11,067 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 5,021 in Sindh, 4,468 in KP, 803 in Islamabad, 628 in Azad Kashmir, 328 in Balochistan, and 147 in GB.

Furthermore, 385,414 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 357,735 in Punjab, 144,848 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 88,093 in Islamabad, 30,502 in Balochistan, 24,891 in Azad Kashmir and 8,212 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
