Pakistan records 47 deaths by coronavirus in last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan has recorded 47 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 11,204 on Friday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 1,745 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours as the the number of positive cases has surged to 528,891.

In the past 24 hours, as many as 2,075 patients have recovered from the deadly virus in a day and 2,362 patients are still in critical condition including 27 new cases. The total count of active cases is 34,916.

A total of 35,839 tests were conducted across the country during this period. Overall 482,771 people have recovered from the deadly disease so far while 7,561,977 samples have been tested thus far.

Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Most numbers of casualties have been reported in Punjab.

Till now 239,186 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 152,158 in Punjab, 64,651 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 18,696 in Balochistan, 40,548 in Islamabad, 8,753 in Azad Kashmir and 4,899 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore 4,523 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 3,855 in Sindh, 1,823 in KP, 192 in Balochistan, 461 in Islamabad, 248 in Azad Kashmir and 102 in GB.
