Pakistan records 54 more Corona-related deaths in past 24 hours

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan has recorded 54 more coronavirus-related deaths in the past 24 hours, taking the overall death toll to 13,281 on Tuesday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 1,353 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours as the number of positive cases has surged to 593,453.

The total count of active cases is 16,349 and the positivity rate stands at 4.25 per cent. In the past 24 hours, as many as 3,365 patients have recovered from the virus in a day and 1,644 patients are still in critical condition.

A total of 31,786 tests were conducted across the country during this period. Overall 563,823 people have recovered from the deadly disease so far while 9,278,613 samples have been tested thus far.

Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Most numbers of casualties have been reported in Punjab.

Till now 259,956 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 178,648 in Punjab, 74,167 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 19,121 in Balochistan, 45,976 in Islamabad, 10,626 in Azad Kashmir and 4,959 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore, 5,600 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 4,436 in Sindh, 2,118 in KP, 201 in Balochistan, 511 in Islamabad, 313 in Azad Kashmir and 102 in GB.
