Pakistan records 78 deaths, 4757 COVID-19 cases in a day

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Pakistan has recorded 78 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 14,434 on Wednesday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 4,757 persons tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours as the number of positive cases has surged to 667,957.

During the period of a day, the total count of active cases was recorded at 50,397. The health facilities across the country conducted 43,965 coronavirus detection tests, taking the total number of COVID-19 tests to 10,197,329 since the first case was reported.

According to the statistics, 27 patients were declared critical, adding to the total number of patients suffering from sensitive health condition up to 3,197.

Overall 603,126 people have recovered from the virus including 2,848 who have regained their health from COVID-19 during the past 24 hours.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 6,365 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,497 in Sindh, 2,342 in KP, 568 in Islamabad, 352 in Azad Kashmir, 207 in Balochistan, and 103 in GB.

Furthermore 265,433 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 220,392 in Punjab, 87,055 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 57,833 in Islamabad, 19,557 in Balochistan, 12,663 in Azad Kashmir and 5,024 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
