Pakistan records 111 – highest number of COVID-19 deaths in a day

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan has confirmed 111deaths – highest till date – by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours. According to the data released by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the countrywide tally of coronavirus cases has surged to 148,921 with 56,390 patients having cured of the disease and 2,839 virus-related deaths. As many as 55,878 cases have been detected in Punjab, 55,581 in Sindh, 18,472 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 8,327 in Balochistan, 8,857 in Islamabad, 663 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 1,143 in Gilgit Baltistan. A total of 4,443 new cases were detected when 25,015 new tests were conducted during this period. The number of people defeating the deadly virus has reached 56,390. So far, 922,665 tests have been conducted across the country.
