Pakistan reports 11 deaths, 613 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan has reported 11 deaths in last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 290,445. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 6,201 on Wednesday. According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), The number of active coronavirus cases has dropped to 12,166, while the number of recovered patients stands at 272,128. In the last 24 hours, as many as 25,859 more samples were tested, taking the total number of tests conducted across the country thus far to 234072. Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad. Till now 126,743 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 95,742 in Punjab, 35,401 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,412 in Islamabad, 12,370 in Balochistan, 2,212 in Azad Kashmir and 2,565 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Global coronavirus cases
The number of coronavirus cases across the world has crossed twenty two million while the pandemic has claimed more than 777,000 lives so far. More than fourteen point seven million patients have recovered from the disease across the world. The United States is the worse hit, where cases have mounted over five point six million and death toll reached over 173,000.
