Pakistan reports 33 deaths by coronavirus during last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – 33 deaths due to coronavirus reported during the last 24 hours while the number of infection cases in the country has reached 35,788. 1,452 cases reported during the last 24 and 13,051 tests conducted. Confirmed positive cases reported in Sindh have risen to 13, 341, in Punjab 13,561, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 5,252, in Balochistan 2,239 in Islamabad 822, in Gilgit Baltistan 482, and in Azad Kashmir 91. 770 patients have died so far while 9,695 stand recovered. On the other hand, the Punjab government has extended partial lockdown till May 31. A notification has also been issued regarding extension of the partial lockdown in the province. All small shops in Punjab will remain open for four days a week. The notification reads that all major shopping malls and educational institutions in Punjab will remain closed. Meanwhile, barber shops, beauty parlors and gymnasiums are allowed to open for four days a week. “All grocery stores, tandoors and general stores will remain open from 9am to 5pm,” the notification stated, adding that the fruit, vegetable markets and courier services will remain open for entire week. However, marriage halls, marquees, public transport, concerts and sports activities will be banned till May 31.
