Pakistan’s future leadership is for Pakistani people to decide: Mathew Miller

WASHINGTON (92 News) - US State Department Spokesperson Mathew Miller has said that Pakistan’s future leadership is for Pakistani people to decide.

Responding to a query about the elections in Pakistan during a press briefing on Thursday, he said: "Our interest, as you’ve heard me say before, is in the democratic process. We want to see free and fair elections which are conducted in accordance with Pakistan’s laws, and we don’t support one candidate or party over another in Pakistan or anywhere else in the world."

About the allegations levelled by the PTI chairman against the US in an article, he said that he would just say, as they have said before, the former prime minister’s accusations are baseless.
