LAHORE (92 News) – Former Afghan vice-president Ahmed Zia Massoud has said that Pakistan's role is very important for peace and stability in Afghanistan.

In a special interview with 92 News Senior Anchorperson Dr Moeed Pirzada, he said that Ashraf Ghani had already lost his status. "A national government comprising of all groups has to be formed in Afghanistan," he added.

Ahmed Zia Massoud said that the people would not accept a particular group. "Pakistan will also be affected if a state fails in a neighbouring country," he added.

He expressed hope that Pakistan and Afghanistan should jointly work for economic progress in the country. "Our people are very poor and we should jointly work," he added.

The former Afghan vice president said that Ashraf Ghani could not improve social and economic situation and harmed the national unity. "Ashraf Ghani was a corrupt person and used to tell a lie to US President Joe Biden. He talked about resistance against Taliban, but fled."

Massoud said that Afghanistan had enhanced relations with India to get benefit from its economy. "We do not want that India should use the Afghan land against Pakistan. Afghanistan's relations with Pakistan are more important than India," he concluded.
