Pakistan's Special Representative for Afghanistan to attend key meeting in Doha today

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Pakistan's Special Representative for Afghanistan, Muhammad Sadiq will participate in the Regional Conference on Afghanistan and meeting of Troika Plus in Doha today (Wednesday).

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan Mansoor Ahmed Khan is also accompanying the Special Representative, who has been invited to the meeting by Qatari Special Envoy for Counter Terrorism and Mediation in Conflict Resolution, Dr. Mutlaq Al Qahtani.

In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said Pakistan attaches high importance to the Troika Plus mechanism, involving Pakistan, the United States, Russia and China.

He said Pakistan hopes that the meetings in Doha would facilitate resumption of Intra-Afghan negotiations to achieve a political solution for a peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan, at peace with itself and with its neighbours.
