Pakistan safe country for foreign investment: PM Abbasi

NEW YORK (92 News) – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has on Thursday said that Pakistan is a safe country for foreign investment. Addressing a luncheon hosted in his honor by Pak-US Business Council in New York, he said that it is very unfortunate that perception presented by foreign media about Pakistan is quite different to that of reality. The prime minister said Pakistan has rendered unmatched sacrifices in the war on terror and security situation has greatly improved in the country. He said Pakistan has successfully eliminated the bases of terrorists inside the country. He said billions of rupees are being spent on development of basic infrastructure and economy of the country has improved exceptionally. Abbasi said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) provides opportunities to world companies to come and invest in Pakistan, adding that the US companies can also take advantage of these opportunities by investing in Pakistan. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said he met US President Donald Trump at a reception and discussed with him regional issues.
