Pakistan safely recovers five out of 12 abducted Iranian guards: FO

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Foreign Office (FO) spokesman Dr Mohammad Faisal confirmed on Thursday that Pakistani law enforcement agencies (LEAs) and armed forces have safely recovered five out of 12 abducted Iranian guards. In his tweet, the FO spokesperson said that all the guards were in good health and recovered guards were being handed over to Iranian authorities. Dr Faisal asserted that the concentrated efforts under the vigilance of the military leadership are on to recover the other abducted Iranian guards. “With concerted efforts of the Pakistani LEAs and armed forces, 5 abducted Iranian guards have been safely recovered,” he tweeted. “They are in good health, being handed over to Iranian authorities. Concerted efforts under vigilance of the military leadership are on, to recover the other guards,” he added.   Earlier in the last month, at least 12 Iranian guards were abducted on the southeastern border between the two countries. On October 17, in a meeting, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had assured his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif of Pakistan’s active efforts to recover the missing guards.
