Pakistan shuts down Jalalabad consulate over governor’s interference

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan shut down its consulate in Jalalabad, Afghanistan on Friday. The Pakistan Consulate spokesperson said that they have informed the Afghan government about its closure. He said that the interference of Governor Hayatullah Hayat in the consulate affairs is deplorable. “The governor’s intervention is violation of the Vienna Convention,” he stated. The spokesperson said that the consulate will remain closed until security is restored to the situation of August 28.
