Pakistan stands for reforms in the UN, says FO spokesman Qazi Khalilullah

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Foreign Office spokesman Qazi Khalilullah has on Thursday said that Pakistan opposed to the addition of new permanent members to the United Nation Security Council. During his weekly briefing at Foreign Office in Islamabad on Thursday, he said that there was disconnect between what we are told by the Indian side and the ground reality. He said that Pakistan has urged India to honor commitment with regard to observance of ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC) and Working Boundary. The spokesman said that Pakistan stands for reforms in the United Nations with the consensus of all member states, adding that prime minister Nawaz Sharif will address the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 30. Qazi Khalilullah said Pakistan and Afghanistan are discussing measures to keep the border peaceful. “Pakistan supports Afghan reconciliation process and hopes Afghan Taliban will renounce violence and return to the negotiating table,” he said.
