RAWALPINDI (92 News) – DG ISPR Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar has said the talks about a deal with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) are baseless, adding that its minimum discussion will be better for the country.

He was responding to a question during a press conference on Wednesday. "The person talking about the deal should be asked about its motives and proofs. It is stated in the evening programmes that establishment has done this and that. There is no problem in the civil-military relations. We follow the orders of the government."

He said that an organized campaign is being launched against the institutions. "Its objective is to create a gulf among the government, institutions and the nation. The people in Pakistan and sitting abroad had failed in their endeavour in the past and will fail in future as well," he declared.

The DG ISPR said that the current situation in Afghanistan could cause a tragedy, which will directly affect the region. "Fencing the western border is not a big issue, but an ordinary one. The fence issue includes the talks with the Afghan Taliban. The objective of the fence is not to divide the people, but to protect them. The blood of our martyrs is included in the process. 94 percent work on the fence has been completed," he maintained.

He said that the Pak Army is completely aware of the security challenges. " No armed group will be allowed to take the law into its hands," he added.

Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar said that India had conducted a fake encounter in the Neelum Valley. "The alleged terrorist Shabbir is still in his home and alive. India is involved in war crimes. An international journal exposed the Indian aggression," he said.

"All targets of the FATF have been achieved. We hope we will be out of the FATF list. There are no difference between the leadership of Pakistan and Afghanistan. We do not call it Durand Line, but the Pak-Afghan border. Some incidents are being given the air. There is no existence of Daesh in Pakistan. We are aware of the propaganda against the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) whose performance is very good. Visits to the ongoing CPEC projects will be arranged," he added.

The DG ISPR said that Pakistan supports Kashmiris' right to plebiscite on January 5. "India is continuing the worst siege of human history and the authentic leadership of India and Kashmir is raising voice against it. India is heading towards religious extremism. The balance of the traditional war will be affected by the Indian steps, which will cause a negative effect in the region," he declared.

He said that India had put the regional peace at stake. "The Indian military leadership levelled different allegations and hurled threats that reflect pure political thinking. The Indian army is accusing Pakistan after conducting the fake encounter. The objective of the fake propaganda is to divert the attention of the world from IIOJK," he maintained.
