Pakistan to continue efforts for peace, stability: Sartaj Aziz

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has on Monday said that the aim of Quadrilateral meeting on Afghan peace process is to bring Afghan Taliban on the table for dialogues.

Representatives of Pakistan, Afghanistan, China and the United States are participating in the meeting.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of first meeting of the Quadrilateral Coordination Committee on Afghan peace process in Islamabad on Monday, Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with its neighbors.

He said that Pakistan is firmly committed to continue serious efforts for long-term peace and stability in Afghanistan.

The adviser said that the Quadrilateral meeting on Afghan peace process has a great significance, adding that the task of the meeting is to define the overall direction of the reconciliation process along with goals and targets to set with a view to creating conducive environment for holding directing talks between Afghan Government and Taliban groups.
