Pakistan, Turkey want peaceful resolution of Yemen issue, says PM Nawaz Sharif

ANKARA – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that Pakistan and Turkey want peaceful resolution of the Yemen issue, reported 92 News on Friday. Addressing a joint press conference with Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Nawaz Sharif said that they were very concerned about overthrow of the legitimate government by non-state actors in Yemen. “Our relations with Turkey will strongly continue and prosper. We have agreed to extend all possible support in the defence of Saudi Arabia's sovereignty and territorial integrity," he said. Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that the Yemen situation is a matter of concern for all of them. He said that Turkey will make every effort in order to protect the balance and stability in the region. “Current incidents in Yemen are worrisome for all. Building national consensus should be enforced. We have discussed what Turkey and Pakistan can do in order to protect the regional stability,” he said. Later, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Both leaders discussed bilateral relations and regional affairs.
