Pakistan values its unique relationship with Turkey: COAS

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Turkish Minister for National Defence General (rtd) Hulusi Akar called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday (today). According to the Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR), during the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security and measures to further enhance bilateral defence collaboration were discussed. COAS said that Pakistan values its unique relationship with Turkey and would always stand by our brothers. The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan's contributions for conflict prevention in the region and for standing by Turkey & pledged the same for Pakistan. A day earlier, the Turkish president has arrived in Islamabad on a two-day visit to Pakistan. Prime Minister Imran Khan and other senior officials received the distinguished guest at the Noor Khan Airbase. First Lady of Turkey Emine Erdogan accompanies the president. PM Khan personally drove President Erdogan and the Turkish first lady from the Noor Khan airbase to PM House, where, the ceremony was held to accord guard of honour to distinguished guest. Posters welcoming the Turkish president were put up in the capital ahead of his arrival with strict security in place. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was accorded Guard of Honour at the Prime Minister’s House. President Erdogan accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising cabinet members and senior government officials besides heads and CEOs of leading Turkish corporations.
