Pakistan wants to benefit from Malaysian experience, says Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) –Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that no country is poor, but corruption makes it poor.

Addressing Pakistan Investment Conference on Friday, he said that Pakistan wants to benefit from the experience of Malaysia in tourism and other departments. “We welcome Mahathir Mohamad to Pakistan.”

He said that Malaysia was a poor country at the time of independence. “It is mandatory to create opportunities of partnership for traders,” he said.

He said that the progress of Malaysia is an example for the Islamic world. “Each Pakistani is a fan of Mahathir Mohamad who made Malaysia a role model. Mahathir Mohamad brought a big change in Malaysia,” he said.

The prime minister said that the Mahathir Mohamad’s visit is a matter of great pleasure for Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said that Malaysia had decided to make progress at the time of independence. “Malaysia provided investment opportunities to foreigners in Malaysia.”

He said that it is not job of the government to do business, but create opportunities for business. “The secret of Malaysian progress is to create environment conducive for investment,” he said.

Mahathir Mohamad said that it was their gift to install a plant of vehicles in Pakistan.

Mahathir urges need to find ways to combat Islamophobia

Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has urged urged need to find ways to combat Islamophobia, saying that there is fear, hatred and enmity towards Muslims and this is why Christchurch attack took place.

Addressing a joint news conference with Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday, he said that Pakistan and Malaysia understand the issue of combating Islamophobia.

“Pakistan and Malaysia can also cooperate on this particular issue with the aim to bring improvement in the perception of Muslims and reduce hatred and fear towards Muslims, he explained.

Mahathir offers to exchange information to combat corruption

“I think we can exchange information on how to combat corruption in our countries. I am honoured to be attending Pakistan Day,” he mentioned.

Pakistan, Malaysia agree to strengthen bilateral ties

Pakistan and Malaysia have agreed to strengthen their economic relations by promoting trade and investment for mutual benefit of two countries. The understanding came at a meeting between PM Imran Khan and his Malaysian counterpart in Islamabad.

The Malaysian PM Mahathir said both the countries have identified the areas of mutual cooperation which could prove to be beneficial for both the countries. He said traders of both countries will be facilitated in doing business with each other.
