Pakistan will be among top 20 economies by 2025: PM

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has on Thursday said that Pakistan will be among top 20 economies by 2025. Addressing corporate and business leaders from around the world in Islamabad on Thursday, he said that Pakistan has become an attractive location for foreign investment, adding that we are determined to bring foreign investment in Pakistan. “Pakistan is set on track for sustainable growth,” he said. The prime minister said: “CPEC will link china with Gwadar, adding that it will raise living standard of the people.” “CPEC is a key regional initiative for connectivity and shared prosperity of nations,” he added. Nawaz Sharif went on to say that the economy faced severe energy shortages, inflationary pressures, exchange rate volatility and a precarious security environment when the government took over but said today, the government has managed to stabilize the economy. He said that from a 3percent GDP growth before 2013, the country is projected to achieve 5.5 percent GDP growth this year. The economy is targeted to grow over 8 percent between 2018 and 2025 while maintaining single digit inflation.
