Pakistani govt to decide who next army chief is: US

WASHINGTON (92 News) – US State Department Spokesman John Kirby has on Wednesday said that only the Pakistan government would decide who would be the next Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of the country’s armed forces. Addressing daily news briefing in Washington, he said that Pakistan is a sovereign state and is independent in its decisions. The spokesman said that America will continue to support freedom of expression and protest, adding that peaceful protest is everyone’s right. Kirby said that it is necessary for every party to respect the law in any state.
