Punjab CM’s helicopter crashes in Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – A helicopter of the Punjab chief minister crashed in Afghanistan’s Logar area on Thursday. The Logar Province governor confirmed that the helicopter caught fire soon after its landing. He added that the local Taliban had made the six-member crew hostage. Col (retd) Safdar, Col (retd) Shafique, Col (retd) Nasir, Maj (retd) Safdar, Havaldar Kausar and a Russian were on board. Sources in the Punjab government said that the helicopter was heading towards Uzbekistan. The Foreign Office spokesman said that the helicopter was going to Russia. He said that they had contacted the Afghan authorities over the issue.
