Pakistani opener Abid Ali dedicates century to daughter

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Pakistani opener Abid Ali dedicated his Test debut century on Sunday to his daughter, saying that it was hard work which kept him going all these years.
He said while talking to the journalists after first Test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka ended in a draw. “The more I thank Allah, the less it is I kept working hard for the last couple of years and was eagerly awaiting for my big break,” he said.
Abid credited to Babar Azam, saying that he gave him confidence when he became nervous. Abid dedicated his debut century to his daughter.
“I would like to dedicate this century to my daughter. My wife and my parents prayed a lot for my performance. Inshallah I will try to do even better,” he mentioned.
It is pertinent to mention here that ODI and T20 skipper Babar Azam made his third Test century as Pakistan scored 252-2 in reply to Sri Lanka’s first innings total of 308-6.
On the historic record, Abid Ali was declared as the “Man of the Match”. Capitan Azhar Ali welcomed Abid Ali for setting a unique record in the history of cricket.
