ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit has cancelled his official two-day visit to the Punjab and Haryana, after the Indian government allegedly blocked his tour due to security reasons. The high commissioner was scheduled to deliver lecture at the University of Punjab in Chandigarh and meet business community and civil society representatives – both the events have now been cancelled as well. The development comes after Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal blocked his tour due to a terrorist attack on a police station in Punjab which killed 10 people.
