Pakpattan DPO transfer case hearing fixed for September 17

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court on Friday fixed the hearing of Pakpattan District Police Officer (DPO) Rizwan Gondal’s transfer case for September 17. The apex court issued the notices Khawar Maneka including former IGP Kaleem Imam, RPO Sahiwal, DPO Rizwan Gondal, advocate general Punjab, CM’s personal staff officer (PSO) Umar, chief security officer (CSO) Haider Ali, Ahsan Jameel Iqbal Gujjar, Maneka’s son and daughter. The former IGP already submitted the inquiry report related to the political interference in DPO’s transfer, in which, he has given the clean chit to Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Ahsan Jameel. The report comprising of more than 27 pages contain statements of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Ahsan Jameel Iqbal Gujjar (a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader from Gujranwala and close friend of Maneka), CM’s personal staff officer (PSO) Umar, chief security officer (CSO) Haider Ali, Khawar Maneka, his son, daughter and police officers. Earlier, former Punjab IGP Kaleem Imam submitted an inquiry report in the Supreme Court over Pakpattan DPO’s transfer matter on Wednesday here. In the inquiry report, Ahsan Iqbal Jamil, a close friend of the Maneka family, complained against the police officials who mistreated the Khawar Maneka’s daughter. The report stated that Pakpattan DPO Gondal was summoned through PSO by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar without taking the IGP in the loop at 10pm. Ahsan Iqbal Jamil was become part of the meeting on Punjab Chief Minister Buzdar’s invitation. As per report, Imam maintained that there was no political intervention in the case. Meanwhile, the report said that police officers were neither harassed nor pressured. Pakpattan DPO had felt that he was being pressured and he did not like that, the report added.
