Panama Case Verdict: PM summons meeting of party’s leadership

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – As the Supreme Court is due to announce its judgment of the Panama Papers Case tomorrow, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has on Wednesday summoned an important meeting of the party’s leadership for consultation.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held consultations with party’s senior leadership and legal team.

The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Zahid Hamid, Khawaja Zaheer, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Attorney General and Secretary Law.

Sources said that the prime minister has also summoned a meeting of the party’s leadership. The meeting will discuss matters relating to the Panama case.

Sources said that the government will accept the Supreme Court’s judgment.

The Supreme Court will announce the verdict in Panama Papers case on Thursday (tomorrow). The verdict was reserved by the apex court on 23rd February this year.

A five-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa heard the case.

Earlier in a statement, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the Supreme Court’s decision will be according to law and constitution, adding that the government believes in respect of institutions.

On the other hand, Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique said that the Panama Papers case was a conspiracy against development of the country.

In his message of social media website, he said that the opponents of the Prime Minister had completely failed to prove their allegations against Nawaz Sharif. He said that the case was a conspiracy against development, stability, and continuation of democracy in the country.
