Panama Case: JIT directed to complete probe within 60 days

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to investigate into the Panama leaks against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family members submitted its first report in the Supreme Court (SC) today (Monday).

A special bench of the apex court headed by Justice Ijaz Afzal resume hearing to review the report of the JIT.

During the proceedings, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed remarked on the report submitted by the JIT that the Court has full confidence in the team and its work.

He asked the JIT to inform the court of any hurdles if created by any institution or if cooperation of any institution is required.

Justice Ejaz Afzal directed the head of JIT Wajid Zia to complete the investigation process within 60 days.

The three-member special bench of the Supreme Court for implementation of Panama Case adjourned the hearing till 7th of next month.

A six-member JIT headed by FIA Additional Director General Wajid Zia is investigating into the Panama Leaks case.

The Supreme Court had constituted a six-member JIT to probe into Panama Leaks case.

The JIT includes officials from Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Military Intelligence (MI), State Bank (SB), Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) while FIA Additional Director General Wajid Zia is heading the team.
