Panama Leaks Case: SC asks both parties to decide over formation of a commission

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – A five member larger bench of the Supreme Court headed by Cheif Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali resumed hearing of Panama Leaks case on Wednesday (today). During the proceedings, the top court asked both parties to decide over the formation of a commission. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyer Naeem Bukhari requested for one day’s time. Justice Azmat asked the PML-N lawyer, “When did Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif buy a piece of land for Maryam? When did he pay up the money to father? What is the address of Maryam’s house?” He also said the issue regarding Maryam’s dependency stands unresolved so far. Meantime, Justice Aijaz-ul-Hassan observed that no record regarding investment in Qatar exists, adding the PM Sharif did not mention Qatar in any of his speeches. Prime Minister's lawyer Salman Butt said that the Prime Minister had not been named directly in the Panama papers. "The Prime Minister is not responsible for everything which the Sharif family does wrong." Salman Butt said that the records are 40 years old and it is difficult for him to find documents. The hearing of the case has been adjourned till December 09. Talking to media, Minister for state Capital Administration and Development Division Tariq Fazal Chaudhry says during today's proceedings the Supreme Court has remarked that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is not accused in the Panama Papers case. Talking to media in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said that it has also been established that Maryam Nawaz is not dependant of the Prime Minister. He said that it has all along been the stance of PML(N). He said that that we will accept the decision of Supreme Court. He said this case will end the politics of agitation of PTI forever.
