Panama Leaks: Parliamentary committee to meet again today
June 7, 2016
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The 12-member parliamentary committee, which will decide the Terms of Reference (ToRs) to probe into Panama leaks, will hold its meeting on Tuesday (today). The 12-member parliamentary committee comprising of government and opposition members failed to break the deadlock and formulate the Terms of Reference (ToRs) even after many days. Previously, the opposition had rejected the alternate terms of reference (ToRs) presented by the government to probe into the Panama Leaks. The opposition is adamant on starting the investigations into the Panama Leaks on its ToRs. The opposition leaders have started preparing for the reply to the parliamentary committee. The opposition has demanded that the investigations should start from the prime minister. PPP Senator Aitzaz Ahsan said that the opposition’s ToRs were practical and no one would get exemption. “The government is trying to save Mian Nawaz Sharif and his family,” he said. Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that they would accept some points of the government and the government should accept their some points.
