Panama Leaks ToRs: Deadlock persists as parliamentary committee meeting ends inconclusively
June 10, 2016
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Deadlock between the government and opposition parties persisted over the terms of reference (ToRs) to investigate into the Panama Leaks. The 12-member parliamentary committee comprising of government and opposition members failed to break the deadlock and formulate the Terms of Reference (ToRs) even after many days. The opposition said that the opposition will take to the streets in protest after Eidul Fitr if deadlock persists. Previously, the opposition had rejected the alternate terms of reference (ToRs) presented by the government to probe into the Panama Leaks. The opposition is adamant on starting the investigations into the Panama Leaks on its ToRs. The opposition leaders have started preparing for the reply to the parliamentary committee. The opposition had demanded that the investigations should start from the prime minister.
