ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court has on Monday resumed hearing of Panamagate case against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family members. A five-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa resumed the hearing of the case. During the proceedings, Jamaat-e-Islami lawyer Taufeeq Asif requested the court to demand the National Assembly Speaker to submit the record of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s speech to which Justice Asif Saeed Khosa asked if the transcript Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan submitted is wrong. Justice Khosa remarked that judges asked questions during the proceedings to understand the case and these questions should not be perceived as remarks. He remarked that the political parties should wait for the final verdict of the apex court in the Panamagate case instead of delivering speeches or resorting to political commentary outside the court. He said that during proceedings the judges ask questions to understand the case. These questions should not be taken as remarks. Justice Azmat Saeed confronted the counsel of Jamaat-e-Islami saying the counsel is opposing his own petition. The Court adjourned the hearing till Tuesday (tomorrow).
