Panamagate Case: Nothing wrong in exchange of gifts between father, son

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Justice Asif Saeed Khosa has on Monday said that the court will not let Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) counsel Naeem Bukhari go until the satisfaction of court. A five-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa resumed hearing the case. During the proceedings, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Counsel Naeem Bukhari continues presenting his arguments regarding Panamagate case. Naeem Bukhari presented evidence over beneficial ownership of the London Flats. In his arguments, he said that he will complete his argument today to which Justice Asif Saeed Khosa remarked why he was in a hurry to end the case, adding that the court will not let him go until its satisfaction. Naeem Bukhari said that Maryam Nawaz has taken Rs 680 million in gifts from her father Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, adding that she didn’t have tax number before Captain Safdar elected as Member National Assembly. The PTI lawyer said that Hussain Nawaz had gifted Rs810 million to Nawaz Sharif. He added that when Hussain Nawaz moved abroad his NTN became dysfunctional. Justice Gulzar remarked that there was nothing wrong in exchange of gifts between a father and son, while Justice Asif Saeed remarked that they can demand for the proofs of the exchange of gifts to which Naeem Bukhari said that the court must also told what was the source of income for the gifts. Justice Azmat Saeed asked Bukhari, "We had asked you 16 questions but you have not answered even one?" The court further adjourned the hearing until tomorrow.
