Panamagate case: SC seeks detail of property distribution from Sharif family

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court has on Wednesday sought details relating to the distribution of property of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s father among the family members. A five-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa resumed hearing of the Panamagate case against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and family. During the proceedings, Justice Gulzar asked what happened to the assets of Mian Muhammad Sharif after his death to which Shahid Hamid, counsel of Maryam Nawaz said that there isn’t any dispute or conflict within the Sharif family in this regard. Justice Asif Saeed Khosa said that ordered to inform the top court regarding the details of the distribution of Mian Muhammad Sharif’s father of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif property among the family member. The court further ordered Shahid Hamid to present the transcript of Maryam Nawaz’s interview to a private TV channel. The counsel of Maryam Nawaz said that Hussain Nawaz has two marriages and to distribute assets amongst his heirs, Maryam Nawaz was made a trustee. Shahid Hamid said that the signatures of Maryam Nawaz regarding the beneficiary owner of two offshore companies, Nielsen and Nescoll are fake. “The court can assess Maryam Nawaz’s signatures. The documents related to her name contain fake signatures.” The counsel said that his client is not a beneficial owner of London flats but only a trustee. He said Marriyum Nawaz files her tax returns mentioning the details of the properties she owns in the country. The court adjourned the hearing till tomorrow (Thursday).
