Parks across Lahore reopened for public with SOPs

LAHORE (92 News) – The Punjab government on Friday has reopened parks in Lahore for general public after 75-day closure on Friday (today). According to the reports, a large number of people in Lahore have reached various public parks of the city, after they were opened for the general public. The people were wearing masks and adopted the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the provincial government to control over the pandemic spread. The citizens also lauded the Punjab government’s decision of opening the parks. The parks will remain open from 6:00am to 9:00pm every day. The decision came after as many as 4,896 new coronavirus cases have surfaced in Pakistan over the last twenty four hours taking the total tally to 89,249. These include 33,144 in Punjab, 33,536 in Sindh, 11,890 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 5,582 in Balochistan, 3,946 in Islamabad, 852 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 299 in Azad Kashmir. The death toll from the virus stands at 1,838 with sixty eight deaths reported over the last twenty-four hours. 22,812 corona tests were also carried out during this period.31,198 patients have so far recovered from the disease.
