LAHORE (92 News) – The Punjab government has extended partial lockdown till May 31. A notification has also been issued regarding extension of the partial lockdown in the province. All small shops in Punjab will remain open for four days a week. The notification reads that all major shopping malls and educational institutions in Punjab will remain closed. Meanwhile, barber shops, beauty parlors and gymnasiums are allowed to open for four days a week. “All grocery stores, tandoors and general stores will remain open from 9am to 5pm,” the notification stated, adding that the fruit, vegetable markets and courier services will remain open for entire week. However, marriage halls, marquees, public transport, concerts and sports activities will be banned till May 31. Earlier, Punjab Minister for Colonies Fayyazul Hassan Chohan has said that the lockdown will be eased in Punjab for four days. In a statement on Saturday, he said that the business would be closed completely on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. “There will be a complete lockdown in Punjab for three days. The business activity will be allowed on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday,” he added. He said that no decision had been yet made on the lockdown in six big cities. The minister said that all shopping malls and plazas will remain closed during the lockdown.
