Passengers spend night at platforms due disruption of train traffic

LAHORE (92 News) – Traffic on the Lahore-Karachi track has badly been disrupted after the derailment of goods train on Wednesday. The rains schedule could not be restored after even 30 hours of the accident in Rahimyar Khan. As a result, trains that departed from Lahore reached Karachi this morning. Four trains – Millat, Korakoram, Business and Awami Express – scheduled to depart from Karachi could not leave for their destinations. Passengers had to sleep at platforms. Due to delay in trains, the department has to suffer a loss of millions of rupees daily. The plight of passengers belied the claims of the department regarding provision of facilities. The passengers criticized the railway minister. They said that the government should improve the railway system instead of making announcements and claims.
