PBC, SCBA express reservations about ECP and CEC

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) and the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) have expressed their reservations about the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, saying the ECP cannot oblivion to the sensitive issues.

In their statements, the lawyers' bodies also accused the ECP of imbalance in the distribution of seats in Jhelum, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi districts.

They demanded that the ECP should resign for anomalies in the delimitations of the constitutions. They said that the SC should take notice of the contradictions instead of endorsing the acts of the ECP.

They said that all stakeholders should be provided equal opportunities. "Lawyers will hold an All Pakistan Representative Convention to ensure the conduct of free and fair elections in the country," they added.
