March 13, 2020
LAHORE (92 News) – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday said that foreign players currently taking part in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020 are free to quit the tournament due to the coronavirus fears. The PCB spokesperson has announced that every player reserves the right to quit PSL 2020. He added that the decision to let the players have that control was taken after English players requested to be allowed to so so. Meanwhile, management of the franchises has decided to limit their activities in Karachi. “The players will either remain in their hotel or go to the stadium,” the board said. The PCB allowed the local players that if they do not want to play the tournament, they can also quit. The PCB's statement comes a day after it was announced that the remainder of PSL 2020 matches in Karachi will be held behind closed doors and without fans. On the other hand, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) also excused from Pakistani tour. However, the matches between Pakistan and Bangladesh were scheduled in Karachi during next month.
