LAHORE (92 News) – PCB Legal Adviser Taffazal Rizvi filed an Rs100 million defamation suit against for his controversial statement against him and the board. He has also started criminal proceedings against Shoaib Akhtar and sought an apology from him. In response to Shoaib Akhtar’s public comments on Tuesday, the PCB said: “The PCB is disappointed with Shoaib Akhtar’s poor choice of words while publicly commenting about the PCB’s legal department and its legal adviser. The language used by Shoaib Akhtar was highly inappropriate and disrespectful, and cannot be condoned in any civilized society. “The PCB’s legal advisor, Mr Taffazul Rizvi, in his own discretion, has initiated defamation and criminal proceedings against Shoaib Akhtar, while the PCB too reserves its rights.” Earlier in a statement, Shoaib Akhtar had termed the PCB Legal Department as the most incompetent. He also accused the PCB Legal Department of protecting those involved in match-fixing.
