LAHORE (92 News) – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has nominated legend Zaheer Abbas for the slot of International Cricket Council’s (ICC) president after Najam Sethi withdrew his nomination voluntarily. Touted as the ‘Asian Bradman’, Zaheer has played 78 Test for Pakistan scoring 5062 runs, including 12 centuries and 20 half centuries. After the withdrawal of Najam Sethi, former legends Majid Khan and Zaheer Abbas were in line to be nominated, but Zaheer won the race. In a tweet on Monday, Najam Sethi said: “I have decided to step aside from ICC presidency. I request the PCB to nominate a great ex Test cricketer for this position in spirit of game.” Earlier, Zaheer Abbas has worked as the PCB chief selector and team manager.
