ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday accepted the resignations of PPP and Awami National Party (ANP) from all posts of the opposition alliance.

PDM chief while reshuffling the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), has approved the appointment of Hafiz Hamdullah as information secretary.

After approval of Hafiz Hamdullah's appointment, he took over the charge in replacement of ANP's Mian Iftikhar.

Earlier on April 26, PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman urged the PPP and the ANP to reconsider their PDM’s resignations.

Addressing a press conference along with PDM leaders, the PDM chief said that PDM is present with full force and is committed to overthrow the government. “The economy has collapsed, and this will continue for many years to come,” he added.

He said that some colleagues wanted to talk about leaving the PDM in a wrong way but they should reconsider their decision. "I urge them to reconsider the situation, and if they have committed a mistake, they should accept it [...] as these are the tenets of democracy."

“It was decided to convene a meeting of the PDM in which consultations would be held on the improvement of the economy. We will launch public campaign with full force after Ramadan.”

“The COVID’s flu falls on the common people, while the government has not even imported medicines for common ailments. In this situation, we stand by our position that this government must end,” he maintained.
