According to the reports, the opposition and government has come face to face and PDM announces to hold public gathering at any cost today. After Qila Kahna Qasim Bagh Stadium, Ghanta Ghar Chowk was also sealed and the containers blocked the routes and borders of Punjab and Sindh.

Additional police personnel has deployed across the city. The police is conducting raids in different cities and arresting the PPP, PML-N and JUI-F workers. The metro and speedo bus services in Multan have been suspended today due to the rally.

A large number of workers have already arrived at Gilani House in Multan, who will leave here for the venue of the public meeting at Qasim Bagh in the form of a rally.

The leadership of Pakistan Democratic Movement including Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Maryam Nawaz, Yousuf Raza Gilani, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and others are scheduled to address the public meeting.

In a first, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari will be representing the Pakistan Peoples Party to address supporters. Party chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will be delivering his speech via video link.

On the other hand, the Punjab government and local administration had denied permission to the opposition parties for the meeting owing to increasing virus cases in the second wave of the COVID-19 in the country.

Earlier on Sunday, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) head Maulana Fazlur Rahman on Sunday has said that the rally will be held at the same venue Multan’s Qilla Kohna Qasim Bagh at any cost.

The PDM head announced while addressing a press conference alongside PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah, PPP leader Yousaf Raza Gillani and others in Multan today.

The JUI-F chief alleged that the government is exhibiting state terrorism to stop the PDM rally in Multan. He threatened the government from severe consequences if the political parties were stopped from holding the public gathering in Multan.

He asked political activists to break all barriers by using ‘batons in the response to batons’ by police or any other forces. Fazlur Rehman said that PDM leadership will never accept lawlessness and usage of police forces against the political campaigners.

"We will soon have a long march towards Islamabad and remind the rulers of their times," the JUI-F chief said.

He criticised the crackdowns against political activists across the province and arrests of workers who were finalising preparations for the Multan rally.

While addressing the press conference, Rana Sanaullah said that PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz will arrive in Multan to participate in the upcoming PDM rally at any cost.

Yousaf Raza Gillani said that Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s health is not well and Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari will attend and address the Multan rally tomorrow. He criticised the arrests of his son and PPP workers in Multan by the local administration.

It is pertinent to mention here that the opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) had announced to hold a public meeting on November 30 in Multan.
