PDM could 'only gather 3,000 people' despite allowing rally in Red Zone: Rasheed

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Minister for Interior Sheikh Rasheed on Tuesday said that despite allowing PDM to hold a rally in the Red Zone, it could only gather 3,000 people.

Addressing a press conference, the minister congratulated the Police, Rangers and law enforcement institutions for maintaining law and order situation without creating hurdles in the way of PDM protest, adding that there was no hurdle in the PDM's protest and everyone has seen the result.

“Even the media itself was saying that there were not more than 3000 people in the protest,” Sheikh Rasheed said and added there were many flags and leaders but there were no workers.

The minister said after today s failed show of PDM, the government also welcomes their long march that could end opposition s power-driven campaign.

Taking a jibe at PDM, he invited them to hold the long march starting today and urged them to not wait further. "During your rally, even the metro bus was running," he said, in further ridicule of the Opposition's protest.

"This was a gathering of people who are hungry for power," Rasheed said.
